SPS regularly hosts students on internship from reputed institutions of India like IIT Mumbai, Institute of Rural Management in Anand, TISS Mumbai, GB Pant Social Science Institute in Allahabad, Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore etc. SPS has also hosted students from foreign institutes like the Centre for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) -UPenn, Syracruse University, Penn State University, University of East Anglia, UK, etc. Find the complete list of internships here

SPS is also in dialogue with the Penn School of Engineering and the network Engineers Without Borders (EWB) for hosting engineering students for a longer period who will address specific problems of the area like water shortage, poor drinking water quality, agricultural waste recycling and rural energy to find innovative solutions.

Interns come and spend time at SPS as part of their coursework. They participate in various field activities of SPS and also conduct their own research and evaluation studies of the programmes of the NGO. In addition to providing a window for dialogue with the faculty and students of these reputed institutions, SPS sees these internships as an opportunity to inspire the younger generation to dedicate time to the rural areas and to take the challenge of rural development poverty alleviation seriously. SPS also sees these students as a possible pool from which it could draw personnel to be deployed in its own programmes.

Some of our outgoing interns from the 2015 batch have put together An Intern’s Survival Guide for all prospective interns-Indian and foreign. You can find answers to most of your questions here. For further queries, please write to sps.internships@gmail.com
